Seth Godin’s latest talk at TED is now available. In his presentation, he talks about leadership, change, group action, and other ideas from his newest book, Tribes. Here is perhaps my favorite line from this talk:
If you’re not upsetting anyone, you’re not changing the status quo.
This is well worth any leader’s or change agent’s time to watch. Only 17 minutes. Happy viewing!
I agree completely. At times, it concerns me when my students don't like the things I make them do, or when people disagree with me on some stuff. But I've come to realize that most people simply don't like innovation until it becomes "cool" to do.

I think this is a great video. It suggests though that there's a new kind of school coming, one based on tribe instead of on locality or ability-to-pay. I wonder what it will look like, and if it will have anything in common with the one I've started envisioning after reading Malcolm Gladwell in this week's New Yorker.
