•Laptops were viewed as a distraction: in the beginning, i remenber students even use to send me an email and ask if they could go to the bathroom by email...students wouls at times go on Facebook and chat...the newness of it has faded in our school. I have to admit that is is not an issue in my class. Maybe this idea of laptops were viewed as a distraction came from a digital immigrant thought, for sure not from a digital native as the computer is part of their daily landscape.
It is just a medium and the laptop is NO MORE a distraction but a tool as a piece of paper or a pen. But this tool os now for all of us, teachers and students at the American School of Bombay, a must as we cannot do without it today.
